THETFORD BUSINESSPEOPLE TEST THEIR GENERAL KNOWLEDGE IN FUNDRAISING QUIZ NIGHT
Clients and staff of a Thetford chartered accountants put their general knowledge to the test while raising nearly £600 for a local community fund when they took part in a charity quiz night.
The Lovewell Blake Thetford Fundraising Quiz saw nearly 50 eager competitors pitting their knowledge against each other at the Thomas Paine Hotel.
‘The Wooden Tops’ were the eventual winners – and boosted the amount raised by donating their prize money back into the community fund.
Jamie Norton from Lovewell Blake’s Thetford office, who along with colleagues Colin Chamberlain and Dawn Wright organised the quiz, said, “Our annual quiz night has become something of a must-attend event. It is a great way to bring people from the local business community together.
“We are very grateful to Gez Chetal at the Thomas Paine Hotel for hosting the quiz, and for enabling us to raise money for the Lovewell Blake Community Fund, which gives grants to grassroots charities and voluntary organisations across the region.”
Since it was set up in 2008, the Fund has distributed grants totalling over £340,000 to organisations across Norfolk, north Suffolk and east Cambridgeshire. Local recipients in the last grants round included Thompson Millennium Green Charitable Trust, which received £1,500 to repair and maintain exercise and play equipment on the village green.
