IMPACT OF BUDGET ON AGRICULTURAL SECTOR THE FOCUS FOR INAUGURAL BURY ST EDMUNDS FARMERS’ EVENING
Farmers in the Bury St Edmunds area are being invited to the first in a series of Farmers’ Evenings being run by a partnership of the NFU and chartered accountants Lovewell Blake, on Monday 2nd November at Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club.
Coming just days after Chancellor John Healey’s first Budget, the inaugural event will explore what the Budget statement will mean for the agricultural sector, with a leading rural finance and tax expert unpacking the details of the annual announcement and discussing their impact on farming businesses, rural enterprises, landowners and agricultural families.
Ed Passmore, tax partner at Lovewell Blake, will be the keynote speaker. Mr Passmore has extensive experience advising businesses across the agricultural sector and will share his perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing farming businesses today
“This year's Budget is expected to be a defining moment for the UK's economic future, with potentially significant implications for the agricultural sector,” said Mr Passmore.
“From taxation and succession planning to investment, diversification and rural business growth, farmers and landowners will be watching closely to see how government spending commitments are funded and what the resulting changes could mean for their businesses.”
In addition to explaining how the Budget measures will affect agriculture, he will also provide practical insight into the opportunities, risks and strategic considerations that could shape the sector in the years ahead.
The inaugural NFU/Lovewell Blake Farmers’ Bury St Edmunds Evening takes place at Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club on Monday 2nd November, with arrival from 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start.
