HALESWORTH BUSINESSPEOPLE TEST THEIR GENERAL KNOWLEDGE IN FUNDRAISING QUIZ NIGHT
Businesspeople from around Halesworth put their general knowledge to the test while raising over £1,000 for a local community fund when they took part in a charity quiz night.
Organised by chartered accountants Lovewell Blake, the quiz saw around 60 eager competitors pitting their knowledge against each other at the town’s Golf Club.
A team from Southwold RFC, ‘Hookers and Maulers’ were the eventual winners, pipping a team from S J Geomatics to the title by just one point.
Mat Waters from Lovewell Blake, who acted as Quizmaster for the event, said, “Our charity quiz night is a great way to bring people from the local business community together.
“We are very grateful to Halesworth Golf Club for hosting the quiz, and for enabling us to raise money for the Lovewell Blake Community Fund, which gives grants to grassroots charities and voluntary organisations across the region.”
Since it was set up in 2008, the Fund has distributed grants totalling over £420,000 to organisations across Norfolk and Suffolk. Local recipients in the last grants round included 4th Bungay Guides, which received £2,000 to purchase camping equipment.
