FREE SEMINAR TO HELP THETFORD BUSINESSES TACKLE ONLINE FRAUD

27th Jan 2017
Jamie Norton of Lovewell Blake

Tackling digital fraud will be the focus of a free seminar to be hosted in Thetford by Lovewell Blake on Tuesday 7th February.

With surveys showing that more than half of all businesses have been the victim of financial crime, and with online fraud the fastest growing type of threat to companies, the seminar will see a fraud expert from Barclays outline the nature of current threats – and how to manage those fraud risks.

Barclays Business Digital Eagle Joseph Cooksey will provide an overview of the key online threats and the types of fraud which could affect businesses, explain how fraud works, and talk about how to mitigate these threats.  He will also touch on other common types of fraud, including invoice fraud.

“Sadly criminals are becoming ever more sophisticated in the way that they target businesses,” said Jamie Norton, manager at Lovewell Blake, who will introduce the seminar.

“With increasing levels of business being transacted online, and an increasing reliance on IT, all businesses need to be aware of the risks, and be taking steps to reduce the likelihood of them falling victim.”

The free breakfast seminar takes place from 7.45am – 9.30am on Tuesday 7th February at Thetford Golf Club, and includes a full English breakfast.  Places need to be booked in advance, either online at www.lovewell-blake.co.uk/events/event-Digital-fraud-seminar, or by contacting Bianca Mortimer on 01603 663300 or at b.mortimer@lovewell-blake.co.uk
