FREE EVENTS WILL HELP EMPLOYERS GET FULL VALUE FROM APPRENTICESHIP LEVY

Two free events in Norfolk to help employers make the most of opportunities presented by apprenticeships take place next month – marking six months since the apprenticeship levy came into effect.

The levy means that employers with a total wage bill of more than £3 million have to pay 0.5 per cent of their total pay bill to help fund apprenticeships – but the move also throws up lots of opportunities for employers to gain from the fund.

The events, in Thetford and Easton near Norwich, will see experts from leading regional chartered accountants, business advisers and financial planners Lovewell Blake; Norfolk County Council; and West Suffolk College (Thetford event) and Easton & Otley College (Easton event) explain which businesses have to pay the levy, and more importantly, how all employers can benefit from the expanded apprenticeships programme which it will help fund.

The events are titled ‘Is your business getting value for money from the Apprenticeship Levy?’, and are free to attend.

“The introduction of the levy has made all the headlines, and many employers are still getting to grips with that, but it is equally important for all employers to understand how they can enhance their business by embracing apprenticeships – and at the same time make sure they are getting full value if they are paying the levy,” said Gemma Chapman, HR manager at Lovewell Blake.

The Thetford event takes place on Tuesday 10th October at Thetford Golf Club from 7.45am, and includes a full English breakfast.  The Easton event takes place at Easton & Otley College on Tuesday 17th October from 5.30pm, and includes a buffet supper.

Places are free for both events, but must be reserved in advance.  More details, and to book, at www.lovewell-blake.co.uk/events, or by calling Bianca Mortimer on 01603 663300.
