FREE EVENT WILL HELP PEOPLE MAKE THE TRANSITION TO RETIREMENT

19th Sep 2017

Those approaching retirement are being invited to a special event designed to help them prepare for the transition from active employment to retirement – with presentations covering a range of topics from the financial choices through to making the social and emotional adjustments to finishing your working life.

Lovewell Blake is mounting the free ‘Your Retirement Experience’ event at Ravenwood Hotel at Rougham near Bury St Edmunds on Tuesday 3rd October, aimed at helping those for whom retirement is on the horizon prepare for all aspects of that big life change.

“The transition from working life to retirement can be quite daunting for a lot of people,” said Graham Walker, director of Lovewell Blake Financial Planning.

“The government’s pension freedom legislation has meant that today’s retirees are facing a vast array of options on the financial side, but the newly-retired also face a whole range of issues, from the loss of social status that giving up work can entail, to finding a useful and fulfilling role in later life.  Our event aims to help those facing this transition to make the most of the opportunities that retirement offers.”

Also speaking will be Richard Packham, who retired in 2013 after a high-profile career in local government.  He will be talking about his own experiences and sharing some of the lessons he has learnt in the subsequent years.

The event is free to attend, and takes place on Tuesday 3rd October from 6.30pm to 9pm.  Places can be booked at www.lovewell-blake.co.uk/events/Your-Retirement-Experience-2017.
