Construction of new homes has officially commenced at a site in the centre of Attleborough.  The £1.5 million scheme is being developed by Breckland Bridge, the joint venture partnership between Breckland Council and The Land Group, and is set for completion at the end of 2020.  Ten brand new homes are being constructed on the land adjacent to the former Chapel Road Primary School and will comprise two impressive detached dwellings on the corner of Cyprus Road and Chapel Road, with a further eight two and three bedroom terraced homes.

The houses have been designed by Hoopers Architects in Ipswich using contemporary architectural styles which provide modern 'whole-life' living.

Wellington Construction is pressing ahead with the build and William H Brown will be handling the sales of newly named Chantry Court at the local office on 01953 452990.

The Breckland Bridge partnership has recently completed a popular housing development in Mileham to the north of Attleborough and the £8million leisure complex in Thetford featuring anchor tenants Travelodge and The Light Cinema.

Land Group Director David Winch remarked at the ceremony, “We are sure that the much-needed dwellings being built in the heart of Attleborough will be welcomed by house buyers from the local community in Breckland and from further afield.  This development emphasises the focus Breckland Bridge has on providing and improving the housing stock across the district.  We recently completed a successful residential scheme at Mileham and we have a number of similar projects in the pipeline at Shipdham, Colkirk and Litcham in the Breckland District.”

Breckland Council’s Executive Member for Contracts and Assets, Cllr Paul Hewett, commented, “These houses will make excellent homes for local families and help to meet demand in our growing district and so meet our ambition for Breckland as a place where residents and businesses can thrive.”

Wellington Construction is a long established residential and commercial construction business based in Lowestoft. Managing Director Paul Pitcher said: “We are delighted to have started construction of these new homes here in Attleborough, as part of this excellent partnership initiative.  We look forward to handing them over and seeing people making them home towards the end of this year.”
