One of Norfolk’s top restaurants is offering diners the chance to let someone else do the heavy lifting in the kitchen this Christmas – offering lunch on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Roger Hickman’s Restaurant is offering special tasting menus on the two festive days – with just a few places left for each lunch.

The Christmas Eve lunch menu features dishes such as ‘poached salmon with textures of beetroot, apple, watercress and horseradish’, ‘Partridge, chicken, pear and bacon’, ‘Halibut, mussels, dauphinoise potatoes, turnip and apple’ and ‘Christmas pudding parfait’, as part of an eight course menu costing £65 per person.

On Christmas Day, another eight course menu will feature dishes such as ‘Crispy cod cheeks, parmesan risotto and mushroom foam’ and ‘Partridge, chicken liver parfait, chicken skin, bacon and apple’, as well as roast turkey or beef with all the trimmings.  The Christmas Day lunch costs £135 per person, including a glass of Champagne on arrival.

“Our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day lunches have become an integral part of the festive season, and I am delighted that we are able to offer them again this year, despite the Covid restrictions,” said chef-proprietor Roger Hickman.

“We have had to reduce our capacity so that we can ensure social distancing, which means there are just a handful of places left for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  After a difficult year, we hope that we will be able to round off the year by celebrating the festive season with our customers.”
