TASTE THE TERROIR, RESPECT THE LAND: LEADING NORFOLK VINEYARD OFFERS SPECIAL SUSTAINABILITY TOUR AND TASTING

A leading Norfolk vineyard is collaborating with Norfolk Wildlife Trust to offer a Sustainability Tour and Wine Tasting later this month.

Chet Valley Vineyard – which is the only vineyard in Norfolk to be accredited by WineGB’s Sustainable Wines of Great Britain initiative – is offering the immersive two hour tour and tasting, led by a conservation expert from Norfolk Wildlife Trust and winemaker John Hemmant.

The tour will explore the 23 acres of vineyards and vibrant wildlife habitats, demonstrating how the vineyard supports biodiversity through regenerative viticulture and environmental stewardship.

The event will culminate with a guided tasting of five sustainable, small-batch wines from the vineyard, and an interactive Q&A session with a NWT ecologist and the winemaker.

“This is a real opportunity to explore how a vineyard can make a positive contribution to building sustainable habitats, while at the same time making wines which are gaining a growing reputation both here in Norfolk and further afield,” said John Hemmant.

“Those taking part will be able to explore how we nurture biodiversity through rewilding, cover cropping and eco-friendly vineyard practices, as well as enjoying close encounters with the huge range of birds and other wildlife which call our vineyard home.

“This is a chance to ‘taste the terroir, respect the land’, as we say.”

The Chet Valley Vineyard Sustainability Tour and Tasting, in collaboration with Norfolk Wildlife Trust, takes place on Wednesday 30th July from 11am-1pm.  Tickets cost £30, including a guided tasting of five wines, and can be reserved at https://chetvineyard.co.uk/product/vine-wild-sustainability-tour-wine-tasting-wednesday-30th-july.
