Eighty-one pupils at a Norfolk primary school are once again able to enjoy their playtimes after a local house builder stepped in to revitalise their playground.

Norfolk-based Abel Homes took action after teachers at St Faiths’ Church of England Primary School in Horsham St Faith appealed for help to repair and repaint the school’s well-worn playground - patching and repairing the tarmac surface, repainting ball courts and a hopscotch grid on it, and creating a brand-new alphabet-based educational game on its surface.

Abel Homes managing director Paul LeGrice visited the school to hand over the new playground to head of school Katherine Wilson and a group of pupils.

“Our playground was very well used, and needed some repairs and revitalising,” said Ms Wilson.  “We are extremely grateful to Abel Homes for volunteering to undertake the work, as well as create new games painted on the tarmac for the children to enjoy.”

Mr LeGrice added, “We are a local firm which always tries to improve the communities where we are building new homes.  We have a track record of working alongside schools and other community projects to try to enhance the lives of the people living in the places where we are working.

“We look forward to supporting the Parish of Horsham St Faith further as we bring forward our allocated site for the development of 53 new homes in the forthcoming months.”
