NWHS LEAVERS DO IT IN STYLE AT PROM

A pink tuk-tuk, an ice cream van, American muscle cars, several Bentleys and a huge truck were among the ways that North Walsham High School leavers arrived at Northrepps Cottage on Friday (26th June) for the now traditional Prom.  Over 120 Year 11 students celebrated the end of their exams in style, donning ball gowns and smart suits, and enjoying a meal, entertainment and a disco

In keeping with Prom tradition, students arrived in a dazzling variety of modes of transport, in a procession which took over an hour to make its way to the door of the venue:

  • Ayesha Harris, James Spragg, Sophie Mcginnis and James Basset arrived in the most unusual mode of transport – a bright pink stretched tuk-tuk named Lady Penelope, the only one of its kind in the UK
  • Victoria Marshall and Millie Andrews made a cool entrance in an ice-cream van
  • A beautiful white vintage Bentley brought Mega Payne, Ryan Denman, Amber Taylor and Jack Tritton to the party; it was one of several Bentleys arriving on the hotel’s drive
  • Robert Freeman and Liam Clark were passengers in a huge Ford truck which inched its way up to the venue
  • Various sports cars were called upon to convey students, including a Lotus, several Jaguars and Mercedes, and a red Ford Mustang

NWHS head teacher Caroline Brooker said, “After many months of hard work studying for and taking their exams, the Prom was the chance for our leavers to let their hair down, and say goodbye in style.  As ever, much effort went into making the grand entrance, with a queue of weird and wonderful transport snaking down the drive of Northrepps Cottage and into the road.”
