Over 400 North Walsham High School students put their best feet forward for charity today (Thursday 16th July) as they took part in a mass sponsored walk.

All of Years 8, 9 and 10, along with 32 staff members, took part in the 11 mile walk, from the school to Bacton Woods and back, with the majority of the route along the Weavers Way.  Nine particularly energetic students, along with three members of staff, decided to run the course.

The annual event is set to raise around £3,000, half of which will go to charities chosen by each of the five Houses at the school.

The remainder of the money raised will be used to improve the school environment for students, with the exact choice made by the student leadership team.

NWHS head teacher Caroline Brooker said, “Our annual sponsored walk is a great tradition at the school.  It is an excellent means of celebrating the end of the school year in a way which is enjoyable and healthy for the students, whilst at the same time benefitting both the school community and the wider community.
