NORTH NORFOLK FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL GEARS UP FOR ITS 17TH YEAR

One of Norfolk’s biggest food and drink events returns for its 17th year over the first weekend in September, when the North Norfolk Food and Drink Festival takes place in the walled garden at Holkham Hall.

Featuring over 60 local food and drink producers and 15 food and drink trucks, the Festival – which is free to enter - has become one of the most popular showcases for north Norfolk’s produce, with over 12,000 people visiting last year over two days.

For the first time, the Festival is being sponsored by Jarrolds, which opened its north Norfolk farm shop and restaurant in 2024 on the site of the former Back to the Garden at Letheringsett.

Over the two days, the cookery theatre stage will feature some of north Norfolk’s most talented chefs, including Michael Chamberlain from the Victoria Hotel at Holkham, Fran Hartshorne from the multi award-winning White Horse at Brancaster, TV chef Chris Coubrough and leading private chef Saim Khan, who has cooked for an array of celebrities including Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Angelina Jolie and our own Royal Family.

“We are thrilled to be back in the spectacular setting of the walled garden at Holkham Hall once again for the North Norfolk Food and Drink Festival,” said Ben Keeley, chair of the Festival.

“It is a wonderful setting to celebrate the abundance of north Norfolk.  Our producers are showcasing a huge variety of food and drink including fresh meat and game, vegetables, cakes, artisan beer, bread, tarts, juices, cakes and bakes, chocolates and much more.

“A dazzling array of food trucks offers delicious food for eating on site and entertainment ranges from the ever-popular cookery theatre to children’s activities and face painting.

“We are extremely grateful to the Eral and Countess of Leicester for hosting the festival, and to Jarrolds for their generous sponsorship, both of which help to keep the event free.”

The Festival is run as a not-for-profit organisation by a small committee of volunteers.

The North Norfolk Food and Drink Festival is on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September from 10am-4pm in the walled garden at Holkham Hall.  Entry to the Festival is free; there is a £6.50 charge per car for parking.  Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads at all times.
