A Norfolk housebuilder was deluged with potential buyers after it released a new phase of homes on its successful development in Swaffham – and sold nearly half of the new homes on offer during the launch weekend.

Abel Homes launched Phase Four of its Swan’s Nest site off Brandon Road in Swaffham last Saturday, and had a queue of eager buyers waiting for the sales office to open.

The Watton-based house builder started building new homes on the site five years ago, and has sold nearly 250 new homes on the site since.  Phase Four of the site will eventually consist of 70 new homes, the first 11 of which were released for sale at the weekend.

First to reserve one of the new homes was NHS worker and first time buyer Oli Needham, who reserved a three-bedroom semi-detached house.

Mr Needham is a community assistant practitioner, and has been redeployed at Swaffham Community Hospital for the last four months as part of the response to the Covid-19 crisis.  In his spare time he is the district event leader for St John Ambulance within Norfolk.

“I really can’t wait to spend my first Christmas under the roof of a high quality Abel Home,” said Mr Needham.  “The quality and attention to detail on the houses are second to none.  You can see the company puts the person first and that’s what attracted me to Abel Homes.

“Swan’s Nest sales representative Nicola Ward has been so supportive and understanding throughout the process of buying this house.  Her kindness and compassion shown towards me and the situation in being able to meet and discuss the property has really put my mind at ease.”

“Since we re-opened our sales offices across all of our sites after lockdown, there has been sustained demand for our new homes, and this weekend’s launch at Swaffham was hugely successful,” said Clare Cornish, sales manager at Abel Homes.  Not only did we sell nearly half of the new homes released, but there was strong interest on several other properties.”
