North Norfolk’s biggest social landlord has received the keys to 21 new affordable homes in Roughton.  Victory Housing Trust chief executive John Archibald received the keys to the new homes from Chris Dove of constructor Dove Jeffery at the site on Chapel Road in the village.

Twelve new homes are now being allocated for affordable rent to people with a strong local connection to Roughton, with the remaining nine new homes being released for Low Cost Home Ownership.

Victory has invested £2.8 million in the new homes, with a further £649,000 contributed by the Homes & Communities Agency.

“We are really pleased to receive the keys to this important new development of affordable homes,” said Mr Archibald.  “Villages like Roughton need more affordable homes so that local people can remain in their home community.

“This investment means that a piece of derelict and unused land has been reclaimed and used to provide high quality, energy-efficient homes.”

Mr Dove, director of new business at Dove Jeffery, added, “We are delighted to be handing over the new homes on this site.  It presented us with a complex planning challenge, and we have enjoyed a fruitful partnership with Victory as we have progressed the project from initial idea through to completion.”

The new homes at Roughton bring the number of new affordable homes delivered by Victory to 843; a further 169 are currently being built.
