FULL-SIZED DALEK TO GO UNDER THE HAMMER IN NORFOLK

A full-sized dalek, an autographed autobiography of ‘The Who’ legend Pete Townshend, a signed photo of Frank Sinatra and a copy of Ultravox’s Greatest Hits signed by Midge Ure – these are just some of the items going under the hammer in Norfolk on Friday in a unique Music and Movie Memorabilia Sale.

Keys Auctioneers in Aylsham is mounting the special live online auction which will see collectors bidding for a wide range of items connected to the music and film worlds, from original shellac disks featuring Elvis Presley to guitars signed by rock stars, movie cameras to original cinema posters.

The sale takes place on Friday 5th March on Keys’ live online bidding platform KeysLive, with over 150 lots set to be auctioned from 10.30am.

Highlights of the sale include:

  • A full-sized, licensed model of a dalek from ‘Remembrance of the Daleks’, the 1988 Doctor Who series starring Sylvester McCoy as the seventh doctor.  The dalek has a pre-sale estimate of £600-£800.
  • A signed hardback copy of ‘The Who’ guitarist Pete Townshend’s autobiography ‘Who I Am’, published in 2012.  It is estimated at £40-£50.
  • A vinyl LP copy of Ultravox’s 1984 greatest hits album ‘The Collection, signed by frontman Midge Ure, which is estimated at £40-£50.
  • A collection of items connected with Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’ show, including a section of the backdrop from the original 1980 Earls Court show, signed by the band’s drummer Nick Mason (estimate £100-£150)

“There is a real magic connected with both music and movies, and all kinds of memorabilia are highly collectable,” said Tim Blyth, director at Keys.  “We are delighted to bring this veritable treasure trove of items – many of them estimated at accessible prices.

“It may be a dedicated collector who would want a full-sized dalek in their house, but many fans will be attracted by signed albums, photos and books, as well as original cinema posters and a variety of musical instruments, some of them also signed.”
