A foodie quiz night held in Norwich has given a huge boost to Norfolk’s sight loss charity, after organisers of the event handed over a cheque for £4,000, the amount raised on the night.

The People Kit, a group of experts from different professions who have banded together to provide a one-stop support service for local businesses in Norfolk, organised the annual event, which saw 140 foodies descend on the city’s Assembly House to face a food and drink-themed quiz, as well as a series of related challenges, including tastings, plate decoration and even a food-related music round.

Organisers of the event pick a local charity to support every year, and this year the beneficiary was the Norfolk & Norwich Association for the Blind.  The charity’s head of fundraising Jeremy Goss returned to the Assembly House to receive the cheque for £4,000, which was raised by entrance fees, an auction and a raffle.

“The People Kit’s food quiz was great fun, and has become a must-attend annual event for anyone remotely interested in food or drink,” said Mr Goss.

“We are extremely grateful to them, and to everyone who supported the event, for raising such a tremendous amount for the NNAB.  Every penny will be spent in the county to support visually-impaired people to live independent and fulfilled lives.

“Huge thanks also to Richard Hughes and his team at The Assembly House, for hosting the quiz and providing such a great atmosphere.”

The People Kit are already planning next year’s event, which will again take place at The Assembly House, on Thursday 26th September 2019.k’s sight loss charity, after organisers of the event handed over a cheque for £4,000, the amount raised on the night.
