A call has gone out to established and aspiring artists in the Swaffham area to take part in the most important exhibition of its kind in the county – the 2022 Swaffham Visual Arts Festival Exhibition, which will take place in October.

Organisers are seeking an ‘eclectic mix of talent’ working in all forms of media to submit work to be included in the exhibition, which is being sponsored for the first time this year by leading regional fine art auctioneers Keys.

The exhibition is the flagship event in the Swaffham Visual Arts Festival, which was founded in 2010 and is organised and run by The Rotary Club of Swaffham.  As well as championing local artists, the Festival has raised close to £160,000 for good causes over the years.

“This is a fantastic chance for established and aspiring artists from the area to showcase their work in what has become a very prestigious exhibition,” said Festival chairman Stephen Ward.

“The artists chosen will have their work exhibited, and the chance to sell their art to an enthusiastic and knowledgeable audience.

“We are seeking an eclectic mix of talent, artists working in all forms of media from watercolours and oils through to mixed media, lithotypes and photography.”

Artists wishing to take part in the Festival exhibition can submit up to five exhibits, preferably works which have not featured in the Festival before.  There is a hanging fee of £3 per exhibit, and the Festival charges a commission of 25% of all pieces sold.

The deadline for applying is Friday 23rd September.  Full details of how to apply, and a submission form, are available at www.swaffhamvisualartsfestival.co.uk/exhibitors

The 2022 Swaffham Visual Arts Festival Exhibition takes place at the Swaffham Assembly Rooms on Saturday 29th October and Sunday 30th October, with a special preview evening on Friday 28th October.
