A local charity which supports bereaved young people is celebrating a £8,500 windfall, after staff at a Norfolk property firm spent a year raising cash through a variety of fundraising activities.

Staff at Arnolds Keys chose Nelson’s Journey as their designated charity for 2019, and raised a total of £8,509.27 for the organisation.  Staff undertook a wide variety of fundraising activities during the year, including a charity golf day, a summer-long sports challenge between city professional firms, sponsored walks and bike rides, and cake sales.

Emily Matthews, fundraising and marketing officer at Nelson’s Journey, said, “We are so grateful to Arnolds Keys for choosing to support us in 2019.  Nelson’s Journey is reliant on support from the local community, businesses and individuals to continue delivering our support to Norfolk’s bereaved children and young people.”

Nick Williams, chair of Arnolds Keys charity committee for 2019, commented, “We are delighted to have raised such a large sum for nelson’s Journey, because so many colleagues have got involved in the fundraising effort.  It just goes to show that even when you are working hard, there is always time to do something to help others.”

Nelson’s Journey is a Norfolk charity that supports children and young people up to their 18th birthday who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life.  It provides a range of support, appropriate for the needs of each child or young person, including one-to-one support and opportunities to meet others their age who have also experienced a bereavement.

Arnolds Keys staff choose a charity to support each year.  For 2020, the chosen charity is the Priscilla Bacon Hospice Appeal.
